I did this piece as a commission for a DnD campaign, representing a scene that the party lived in one of their sessions. The client asked for the characters of two of the players, the lizzard-man and the small one on his shoulder, surprising a soldier at night

After the composition and values were accepted by the client I started adding color. First I used gradient maps to add basic color and then started working in the details with a layer set in soft light
